Diane Blazier shortlisted for EFL Supporter of the Season Award
Diane Blazier, founder of the Norwich City Fans Social Club, has been shortlisted for the EFL Supporter of the Season Award 2023.
The award recognises someone who has gone beyond the call of duty and added that extra bit of devotion to their football club.
Diane created the group in 2015 to bring Norwich City supporters closer together and raise funds for the Community Sports Foundation, which has so far amassed a total of £46,000. The social club has held 47 events, including fundraising events and awareness-focused events such as mental health evenings.
Diane Blazier’s passion and devotion to Norwich City Football Club and the Community Sports Foundation have been praised by fans, with many highlighting her tireless efforts and leadership qualities. She is known for putting in the blood, sweat, and tears necessary to host the best events, all while raising funds for the important work of the Community Sports Foundation.
Connor Southwell, the Chief Norwich City Reporter for the Pink Un, described Diane as ‘the perfect recipient of this award’ due to her formidable fundraising and absolute devotion to Norwich City Football Club.
Michael Bailey, writer for The Athletic and Norwich City correspondent, noted that Diane’s creation of the Norwich City Fans Social Club has been a force for good. Her relentless enthusiasm, commitment, and energy have made her an important presence in the Norwich City community, and the club would be poorer without her.
