NCFSC Darts Masters – Thursday 18th July 2024
Bullseye bonanza: Inaugural Darts Masters tournament scores big!
Article by Peter Quinn.
Norwich City Fans Social Club hit the bullseye with our first-ever Darts Masters tournament on 18th July at the Lion & Castle pub at Carrow Road.
The event saw 32 pairs competing in a high-energy doubles format, with games starting from 301 points and culminating in a best-of-five final.
After an evening of intense competition, Jimmy Long and Hayden Kent triumphed over Matthew Garrod and Ollie Howard in a gripping final to claim the championship trophy.
Throughout the evening, attendees enjoyed delicious hot food provided by NCFC, including pizzas, burgers, and fries, while sipping drinks from the bar.
For those waiting for their turn at the oche, or simply enjoying the competition, the World Matchplay darts tournament was shown on big screens, ensuring no one missed a moment of darts action.
The turnout of both participants and spectators was fantastic, reflecting the growing popularity of darts, inspired in part by rising stars like Luke Littler.
Adding to the excitement was a raffle featuring fabulous prizes, with all proceeds from the event supporting the Community Sports Foundation.
Congratulations to our champions, and thanks to all our participants and everyone who came to spectate for making the first NCFSC Darts Masters a resounding success!
We are delighted the evening raised over £450 for the Community Sports Foundation and will definitely be an event we will repeat next season.
