Norwich City Fans Social Club celebrated a memorable night by holding their latest fans forum event with Canaries players Angus Gunn, Jonathan Rowe and Jack Stacey.
In front of over 200 people at the Top of the Terrace, the trio entertained by answering the questions of City legend and host Darren Eadie before the floor was opened to supporters to put their burning remarks to the Norwich players.
The audience were engaged and captivated by humorous anecdotes and unrivalled insight – with young, budding footballers clinging onto every word to help their dream of replicating their rise to the top.
Gunn has been formally named as City’s new number one and has utilised his local connections to forge a strong relationship with supporters.
From details of his gloves to insight behind their positive start of the campaign, the keeper was excellent value throughout the evening.
It also served as an opportunity for Stacey to acclimatise himself with City supporters having made the move from AFC Bournemouth earlier this summer.
The right-back has impressed in his early performances for the club and was just as composed on stage – answering questions articulately and revealing his favourite new location in Norfolk having experienced the wonder of the coast for the first time.
Few anticipated Rowe to make the explosive start to first-team life as has been witnessed. As a young supporter informed the winger, he is the first City player post-World War to score in each of the club’s first four games of the campaign.
He was arguably the most popular player of the night and was the subject on the majority of questions – with Eadie probing well to offer insightful stories of his graduation through City’s academy. The pair worked together previously.
Questions ranged from where the trio would sit in the ground if they were supporters to the secret behind a start that has seen City take seven points from a possible nine.
Away from the stage, the social club celebrated a historic evening as they announced they had raised £50,000 for the Community Sports Foundation since their creation in 2015.
The volunteers were presented with a special Norwich City cake to mark the occasion after a video was played that included the likes of Jake Humphrey, Tom Smith, Onel Hernandez, Ian Thornton and Daniel Houlker.
The night was concluded with an auction that included a signed Rowe shirt donated by Daniel Houlker which raised £230 and a raffle.
Supporters were then invited to queue for photographs and selfies with the stars before the night concluded.
