Players Fans’ Forum – Thursday 25th August
A Cuban, a Dutchman and an Englishman walk into a room… No, not the beginning of a bad joke but the latest Norwich City Fans Social Club event.
On Thursday evening, we welcomed Canaries trio Onel Hernandez, Tim Krul and Liam Gibbs to a fans forum event at Carrow Road as supporters were invited to ask their heroes questions and listen to unrivalled insight on what it’s like to play for the club.
Hosted by City legend and friend of the social club Darren Eadie, this was one of the most entertaining player forums we have hosted to date.
Whether it was Onel explaining his love for Argos, Tim’s humourous anecdote on new signing Marcelino Nunez or Liam on playing for Ipswich Town, this was an event that had those in attendance laughing throughout.
After back-to-back Championship victories, it feels as though the season is heading in the right direction, with the players expressing their excitement at attacking the Championship once again.
Prior to the event, each player was given a gift.
Onel received, of course, an Argos lanyard, badge and catalogue. Liam was in receipt of a ‘Mind The Gap’ poster due to his past in Suffolk and an NCFC mug. Tim was presented with a bottle containing some facts about his career in tribute to the famous water bottle used to navigate Norwich through a penalty shootout against Tottenham back in 2020.
Over 150 people were in the room for this event, with plenty of young City supporters getting a photograph and an autograph with their heroes.
We would like to thank those at Norwich City Football Club for their help with organising the event as well as our wonderful sponsors at Foster Solicitors for their continued support.
Our thanks must also go to Conbano Ltd who kindly donated all the raffle prizes for this event to raise money for the Community Sports Foundation.
You can attend our next event on Sunday Sept 4th at the Nest, a Family Fun Day with fun for all ages. Check our social media outlets for all the details
Thankyou for your support.
