Steve Stone, Stuart Webber and Daniel Farke Fans’ Forum 13th July 2017

A 300-strong crowd packed into the Norfolk Lounge at Carrow Road to hear the pre-season plans from City’s top three last week.

Managing director, Steve Stone, Sporting Director, Stuart Webber, and Head Coach, Daniel Farke, were on good form and keen to talk honestly about the position of the club and how the new managerial set up would work in the future.

A common theme was the Academy and how all three see it contributing more in the future to the success on and off the field, by developing young players who can either become Canary first team players or have successful careers elsewhere; with clubs willing to pay for their services.

The sale of Jonny Howson, the scouting network, the continental system of management and whether higher wages bring better players all got a good airing too at the best-attended event so far held by the Norwich City Fans Social Club, this time in conjunction with the football club itself.

Usual social club host Darren Eadie was well prepared, with a number of well-timed comments about That Night in Munich (Farke being a Bayern fan apparently) and we heard once again, if confirmation were needed, that goalies are quite mad.

The results of this interesting mix of characters won’t be known for some months yet of course – but it’s clear that the journey will be exciting.

As well as a great evening of football talk, hundreds of pounds were raised for the Community Sports Foundation with a signed Grant Holt shirt auction and raffle.

We’re busy planning the next event – a Q & A with players is coming very soon – and lots of other events throughout the season.
